Who Killed the Electric Car?

OMG this is history repeating itself. In Dallas many years ago we had an electric trolly system. GM, Goodyear (tires) and Standard Oil. bought up the line, trashed it... and put out many polluting diesel buses. Just like they did in "Who Framed Roger Rabbit"! I can take you into Dallas and show you the rails showing thru the asphalt that was laid OVER them. I was watching "Planet Green" this weekend and watched a program called "Who Killed the Electric Car?" General Motors and the EV1. I was amazed at what GM did... they effectively killed their own car. The EV1 was only available as a lease, when the lease was up, GM came to get the car regardless what the owner/drivers wishes were. These cars were collected up and crushed, as were Honda RAV4 EVs... although Honda tried to be discreet about it.
I wonder what the GM Volt will do... Maybe they will kill it too after 3 years and relaunch the Hummer. Then we will have to make government loans to GM so they can continue to make crappy cars... Oh Wait, we already did that!
