stolen glance

I was at the bus stop in downtown Dallas friday waiting with a few regulars for the next bus. We all wore gloves and were being silly showing them off... me with my black wool fingerless army surplus, an other lady with her surplus green wool shooters mittens, another lady with expensive looking smooth black leather ones... and this very attractive 20-something with a head full of unruly mousey brown curls showed us his gortex snow boarder gloves and a quick and charming smile.

I got on the bus before him and went to my usual seat in the back. He stumbled and tripped over shoes and boots and wide butts to sit 2 seats over from me. He was tall and slender... long arms and nice hands. He caught me looking at him a couple of times.  What beautiful brown eyes he had... My stop was next and I stood and put my pack on my shoulder. He looked at me, smiled widely and told me to have a good day...

It is truly a wonder what good a random stranger with a quick warm smile can do. Even though we may never again meet, he made (still after 3 days) an impression on me... What kind of impression can you make, or rather what  kind of impression DO you make on others?
